I will make every effort to return your call/email within 24 hours during normal business hours. Appointments are typically booked on Mondays and Tuesdays; however, you may leave a voice-mail message or email me at any time.
Information to Leave for Me
I am often not available immediately by telephone or email, so please include the following information in your voicemail message or email:
- your contact information,
- a good time to contact you,
- whether it’s OK to leave a message on your voicemail.
- your preference for whether you’d rather be contacted by phone or email,
Limitations of Email/Phone Communication
Due to the volume of e-mails I receive, I will only respond to those pertaining to counseling inquiries/appointments and to media inquiries regarding my work.
If you send me an email or leave me a voicemail message, please note that I am not able to answer individual questions about your situation, or provide counseling, coaching, resources, or referrals for you unless you are already a client.
Any contact information you give me is held in strictest confidence. I will never share your contact information with anyone. Please note that email is not completely confidential, so please do not give me personal information by email. My voicemail-box at 207-773-1143 is confidential.
I Do Not Provide Crisis Services
Please note that I do not provide emergency/crisis services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, or you are having thoughts of hurting yourself or someone else, please go to your local hospital emergency room, or call one of the following numbers:
- 911 for emergency services, police, or ambulance
- 1-888-568-1112 for the Statewide Crisis Hotline
- 207-774-HELP for the Cumberland County Crisis Hotline
Office Location
My office is located in Portland, Maine. I conduct counseling and coaching sessions by phone and webcam as well, so if you are not able to travel to my office, we can still work together. I am able to provide services to people in the state of Maine only, due to licensing restrictions.
What Will Happen When You Contact Me
When we first speak or email each other, we will set up a mutually convenient time for an initial 15-minute phone consultation that is free of charge. During this conversation, we will talk about how I might help you and answer any questions you may have. This will help us to get a better idea if we are a good fit to work together. If we both think we are suitable to work together and I would be the most helpful counselor for you at this time, we set up our next meeting…either in person, by phone, or over webcam.
